Drew Heitzler, Pacific Palisades
(Doors of Perception #1), 2015
All the way back in October, I wrote on Drew Heitzler's fascinating show at Blum and Poe. Heitzler is the type of artist that makes you think of America's own particular way of recording history in its visual artists and why it is rarer than you think for an artist to take on the complexity of historical events. Heitzler's approach is interesting, purely L.A., and definitely worth your time. I think you might like his particular logic when it comes to connecting surfers to Frank Lloyd Wright.
