Jack Black as Bernie
In this week's edition of Glasstire, I write about the movies of Richard Linklater. I wanted the essay to be about nostalgia, but as I wrote, the subject changed into a general meditation on how film gives an impression of a particular place, a particular landscape. Linklater's landscapes are often Texas, and I try to get at whether or not he is successful in presenting my home state.
